Vandana Dua Niyyar to give KIDNEYcon 2020 Keynote Address
We are pleased to announce that Vandana Dua Niyyar, MD will give the 2020 KIDNEYcon keynote address on Friday evening April 17th. Dr. Niyyar is a nephrologist and interventional nephrologist at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. She completed medical school at Moharishi Dayanand University in India. She subsequently completed residency in internal medicine at the University of Louisville and nephrology fellowship at Emory University. She has been involved in the leadership of several organizations including serving on the ASN continuous professional development committee, the ASDIN education committee and currently serves as a councilor of ASDIN. She is past chair of the certification and accreditation committee and current chair of the ultrasound certification workgroup and finance committee for ASDIN. Recently she was awarded the Distinguished Service Award for ASDIN and received the Nanette K Wenger Distinguished Service Award by the Emory Department of Medicine. Dr. Niyyar has trained and mentored many trainees throughout her career. She has championed interventional and diagnostic ultrasound in the field of nephrology. Dr. Niyyar has authored over 30 manuscripts. Additionally, she recently completed the Nephrology Social Media Collective (NSMC) internship (Class of 2019) and now serves on the faculty. Dr. Niyyar has been involved in KIDNEYcon since the very beginning and we are looking forward to her address and know that she will continue inspire the next generation of nephrologists.
